Sr. Pontiacs & Elks hit the ice this weekend

With half or more than half of their season schedules complete, the Bonnyville Sr. Pontiacs and Elk Point Elks will continue their season campaigns this weekend.

Senior hockey teams are preparing to start the 2022 year.

The Bonnyville Sr. Pontiacs are hoping home ice can reverse their fortunes so far this season with three of four games in January on RJ Lalonde ice.

On Sunday afternoon at 2:30pm, the Sr. Yaks (2-8) host the Westlock Warriors (3-5-1). Bonnyville will look to continue their success they ended 2021 with, which was a 5-2 victory over the Devon Barons on Dec. 17.

Future home games:

  • Saturday, January 15 | Bonnyville hosts Camrose 7:30pm
  • Saturday, January 22 | Bonnyville hosts Lacombe 7:30pm

The lone road game for the Sr. Pontiacs this month is January 29 at Morinville.

Elk Point Elks

The Elk Point Elks begin the second half of their season with a busy January.

On Friday night, the Elks host the Wainwright Rustlers at 8:00pm. It’s one of four home games in the month for Elk Point on their Sask-Alta Senior Hockey League schedule. The weekend action concludes Saturday night in Two Hills against the Longhorns.

Future home games:

  • Friday, January 14 vs Wainwright Rustlers
  • Saturday, January 15 vs Dewberry Mustangs
  • Friday, January 28 vs Two Hills Longhorns
