Natural Gas interruptions leaves many Elk Point residents without heat during extreme cold

Apex Utilities Inc. (AUI) has successfully restored service to the Town of Elk Point and the surrounding rural area after an unexpected interruption to the natural gas supply earlier today.

Some customers lost natural gas supply to their homes or businesses for a short period. The exact cause of the temporary outage is under investigation. There is a temporary natural gas source in place to maintain service while AUI’s technicians repair a recently discovered pipeline leak.

“Safety is our number one priority, and keeping our customers warm is a big part of that,” said Dan Paquette, AUI’s Director, Distribution Operations. “Our amazing technicians are in the area and working to relight appliances for affected customers as soon as possible.”

If you are affected by this outage and need assistance, please call AUI’s 24-hour emergency line at 1-866-222-2068 or visit www.apexutilities.ca/relight.
