EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: Frog Lake Education Authority – Outreach School Teacher

Frog Lake Education Authority of Frog Lake First Nations, a Cree community in Northeastern Alberta, runs three schools accredited in the Province of Alberta. We are requiring a teacher for the Outreach School.

The successful candidates will have

  • The ability to work with a variety of stakeholders; e.g., students, parents, administration, elders
  • Knowledge of the Alberta School Act and the Alberta Curriculum
  • Understanding of local culture and traditions
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Willingness to advocate and participate in outdoor activities
  • Demonstrate healthy living by example

Successful applicants will possess:

  • An undergraduate degree in Education
  • Hold a valid Interim or professional teaching certificate from the Province of Alberta
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to engage in relationships at the individual, familial and community levels
  • And demonstrate cultural sensitivity
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills would be considered an asset.
