Bonnyville Health Foundation updates residents on annual Gala

To our valued annual Gala supporters,

Back in March 2020, the Board Directors of the Bonnyville Health Foundation had no choice but to postpone the 23rd Annual Gala because of the health pandemic and Alberta Health Services orders to avoid large gatherings.

While this has been a significant fundraising opportunity for the  Bonnyville Health Facility for many years, the risks surrounding COVID-19 required us to consider alternative ways to raise critical funds to enhance the level of care in our community.

Thanks to community support we were still able to raise over $32,000 through our online auction event held in June 2020, and our first online 50/50 raffle raising $20,000 with the winner to be announced Friday, February 12, 2021.

We are so lucky to have such a generous and compassionate community; thank you for your kindness.

While we had hoped to resume our much anticipated ‘event of the year’ in March of 2021, the ongoing uncertainty of the health pandemic has made this impossible to plan.

We have made the difficult decision to officially change our plans from an indoor Gala which focuses on raising funds to an outdoor, summer BBQ event where we will focus on providing our thanks and acknowledgement to hospital staff for the sacrifices they have made and the important work they do.

Our corporate sponsors have been very gracious and we hope that they will continue to extend their support by sponsoring this event through their previous contribution.

Please note:

Due to having upwards of 350 health care professionals to give our thanks, the upcoming event will not be open to the public and therefore we will no longer be able to carryover ticket purchases. We ask all of our Gala ticket holders to email [email protected] or call 780.826.8265 and respond with their choice as stated below:

  1. Issue refund for Gala ticket purchase(s)
  2. Convert Gala ticket purchase into a donation (tax receipts will be issued in accordance with CRA guidelines).

Our gala event was sold out with nearly 800 tickets. We ask for your patience as we organize and process your requests. We are fully committed to sharing dates, details and other important information as they become available on our website (www.bonnyvillehealthfoundation.org) and through social media channels on Facebook and Instagram.
