Pedestrian in fatal collision on Highway 897

A pedestrian has died after a collision with a vehicle on Highway 897 in Frog Lake last week.

Elk Point RCMP said they were dispatched to the scene after 8:00pm on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

RCMP said their investigation revealed a lone 47-year-old female wearing dark clothing was walking southbound on the roadway when she was struck by a southbound pick-up truck.

She suffered severe injuries and was pronounced deceased by EMS on scene, RCMP said.

The driver of the pick-up truck was not injured.

The RCMP collision analyst was called in to assist with the investigation and investigators are liaising with the Provincial Medical Examiner.

No charges have been laid after the event.

The name of the deceased will not be released, RCMP said.
