Bonnyville RCMP detachment garner 2300lbs of food for donation

Bonnyville RCMP filled up their police car on Saturday–just not with criminal suspects.

The annual Pack the PC at Sobey’s saw local Mounties accept food donations for the local food bank over the weekend.

The local detachment said thanks to the generosity of residents, they were able to donate 2310 pounds of food to the Friendship Centre and Community Closet at the Bonnyville Community Church.

“Many RCMP members and staff along with MD Peace Officers took turns helping to Pack the PC and we are very happy,” said Sgt. Kim Hillier.

Despite it being a “COVID year”, said Hillier, this donation does line up similarly to the last two winter’s outputs of giving.
