Two wanted individuals found in hiding in Lac La Biche

Lac La Biche RCMP obtained a warrant to enter a residence to arrest Britney Mountain, a 33 year old woman with multiple outstanding warrants, however when RCMP entered the home, they found Mountain and another man they have been searching for in hiding.

On August 23, both wanted individuals, Britney Mountain and George Mountain, were arrested for their outstanding warrants.

Britney Mountain, was arrested for the following outstanding warrants:

  • – Three counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • – Three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • – Two counts of careless use of a firearm
  • – Two counts of possessing of a weapon dangerous to public
  • – Four counts of failing to comply with conditions
  • – Failing to attend court

George Mountain, was arrested for the following outstanding warrants:

  • – Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • – 5 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • – Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
  • – Careless use of a firearm
  • – 2 Counts of failing to comply with conditions
  • – Failing to attend court

Both remain in custody and depending on the docket are supposed to appeared in court today.

RCMP also arrested Ryan Cardinal, who they found trying to get away in a vehicle. Cardinal then got out and escaped on foot into his home. A warrant was issued to enter the home, and RCMP was able to arrest him without any complications.

Cardinal was charged with the following offences:

  • – Obstructing a police officer
  • – Theft of a motor vehicle
  • – Drive a motor vehicle while unauthorized
  • – Drive uninsured motor vehicle

Cardinals outstanding warrants include:

  • – Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • – Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • – Operating a conveyance while prohibited
  • – Fail to comply with conditions
  • – Fail to attend court
  • – Numerous Alberta Traffic Safety Act offences
Cardinal was taken into custody and appeared in court on August 27 in St. Paul.
