Lac La Biche County responds to COVID-19

Lac La Biche County has been following guidelines and recommendations from both Alberta Health Services and the Public Health Agency of Canada regarding the COVID-19 situation. At this time, the current risk level of contracting COVID-19 in Alberta is low. All County buildings (including the Bold Center, Portage Pool, and other facilities) will remain open to the public for now, and all County services are currently operating.

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, has recommended cancelling all gatherings of more than 250 people, along with those that involve high-risk populations. We’ve been working with local organizers on a case-by-case basis to either cancel or restructure events to meet that criteria.

We will keep you updated as the situation changes. Keep an eye on our social media pages or www.laclabichecounty.com for more information about potential changes to County services. For more information about COVID-19, please visit albertahealthservices.ca.
