Watch: Gear Grabbers’ Drag Races hits Bonnyville Airport

The first drag racing event hit the Bonnyville Regional Airport on Saturday.

It’s the first of two drag racing events, the gearhead club is hosting a second drag race on Sept. 14 at the same location.

The show saw over 100 racers come from far and wide across the province and spectators lined their vehicles up on Highway 41 as parking overflowed due to the enormous support.

Here are some of the clips from the event.

Drag racing point of view

Gear Grabbers club member Ray Scott took Michael on a little ride taking his Camaro head to head against a Corvette. Here’s what happened: (P.S. some viewers may find the language used profane. Viewer discretion is advised).

A birds-eye view

Elijah got a chance to go up on the crane and watch the drag racing action from above thanks to B&R Eckels.

Here’s a peak of how the airport looked from the air.
