Employment Opportunity: Town of Bonnyville, Canada Summer Jobs – Environment & Parks Team Employee

Are you a student between the ages of 15 – 30 planning on returning to post-secondary school full time in September?

The incumbent must have been registered as a full-time student for the 2016/2017 academic year, and intends to be returning as a full time student in post-secondary education for the 2019/2020 academic year. Ideally the incumbent is looking to further their experience in Tourism, Horticulture, Environmentalism, Recreation, or Agriculture.


Valid Class 5 Driver’s License


Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for Town image upkeep including maintenance of green spaces, flower beds, main street hanging baskets.

Assist in Town Programs such as residential round up, Canada Day Tourism, and events. Team project member in diverting biodegradable material going to landfill.

Performs maintenance to Parks and Public spaces, Public works equipment operation Working as a team member with summer parks crew, and performing other related public works and parks duties.

Lawn equipment operations, tree pruning, tree planting, playground and parks equipment maintenance, plant and flower maintenance, parks beautification and other related duties.

Assisting in preparation for special events as required. Adhere to all safety procedures.

Performs other related duties as required.

Types of Physical Exertion:

Lifting weights exceeding 10 kg and up to an approximate maximum of 20 kg. Walking on uneven surfaces.

Stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Climb stairs and ladders.
