Cold Lake RCMP apprehend suspect attempting to break into vehicles

Cold Lake RCMP apprehended a suspicious person who tried to break into vehicles earlier this week.

During the early morning hours of March 31, 2019, Cold Lake RCMP were called to an intoxicated female trying to access vehicles in a residential area. The complainant shouted at the female suspect in hopes to scare her off, RCMP said.

The suspect ran a few houses down the street before continuing her attempts to gain entry to vehicles. Officers attended and took the female suspect into custody without incident. The file remains under investigation and Cold Lake RCMP are asking the public to contact police when they see suspicious activity.

The Cold Lake RCMP are asking members of the public not to confront suspects, not only for their own safety but also because it gives them an opportunity to escape before police officers arrive.

Cold Lake RCMP are asking the public’s assistance for any information in relation to this incident or identifying those responsible. Please contact Cold Lake RCMP at 780-594-3301 or your local police. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the P3 Tips app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
