Residential street sweeping begins in Cold Lake

The first spring sweep is here, the city says.

Cold Lake residents may have noticed sweepers already cleaning up Highway 28, and it won’t be long before residential sweeping begins.

“That first sweep is pretty important, and right now we’re a bit earlier than compared to last year,” said Mayor Craig Copeland.

“So long as the weather holds out, crews should be able to get to work on residential sweeping over the next few weeks.”

Crews will be following a schedule that eventually covers all the neighborhoods in Cold Lake.

Some residential areas began their street sweeping this week, while other neighborhoods will have to wait until next or longer.

The city is encouraging residents to move any vehicles on their street prior to the sweeper coming.
