Two People from Bonnyville Charged with Fraud in Connection to Forged Cheques
On January 11th, 2016 the Bonnyville RCMP Detachment received a complaint from a Calgary, AB based printing company advising that they had received a suspicious order for customized cheques from a client in Bonnyville, AB. Through investigation, police were able to trace the orders to the residence of two individuals residing in Bonnyville.
On January 20th, 2016 police attended the residence and arrested a male and female for Possession of Forged Documents. A search warrant was then executed on the residence which resulted in hundreds of documents related to fraud and counterfeiting cheques being found. Those documents along with computers and other electronic equipment were seized in relation to this investigation.
Charged with multiple fraud related charges are:
Francis STOYLES (22), and Daphne STOYLES (21), both residents of Bonnyville.
Both accused remain in police custody and the investigation is still on going. Additional charges may be laid after the evidence is examined further.
