Elk Point RCMP Investigate Thefts from Property & Vehicles

On January 25th, 2016 the Elk Point RCMP received several reports of theft from garages and vehicles on 56A Avenue in Elk Point. These offences likely happened between 3:00 am and 4:00 am.   Ten properties had items stolen from their garages or had their vehicles gone through and items taken

A number of items were stolen including power tools, hand tools, mechanical equipment, and small amounts of change. In one instance a passport was stolen from one vehicle and then found down the block laying in a driveway.

A White four door Dodge Ram was seen leaving the area at the time of the thefts.

The Elk Point RCMP are urging residents to make sure their houses, garages, and vehicles are locked and secure at all times.   As well do not leave important papers, identification or valuables inside your vehicle.  The change that is left in drink holders is an enticement to the criminals that are coming around to check your vehicles. -S/Sgt. Barry LaRoque Elk Point RCMP Detachment

S/Sgt. Barry LaRoque says there are no suspects at this time and anyone with information regarding these thefts please contact the RCMP Elk Point at 780-724-3964 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
